Dirk Fuchs

With over 20 years of automotive experience, Dirk has become a recognized industry subject-matter-expert in Hybrid & EV technology. The reason Dirk founded Automotive Certified Training Academy LLC (ACTA) is a reaction to the high demand for High Voltage Certification Training and became the first IMI (The Institute of the Motor Industry) accredited Training provider in the US to educate Technicians under the IMI International High Voltage Training curriculum. He is a specialist in the Automotive Body Repair Industry.

To cover the demand for Electric Vehicle in-depth technical consulting, Dirk founded the Electric Mobility Consulting LLC (www.electricmobilityconsulting.net). He provides services to help the industry from Shop layout to Infrastructure.

In his previous role as Director of Technical Programs & Services at I-CAR (Inter-industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair,) Dirk has been a featured speaker and panelist at automotive industry events. He has been active in supporting automotive-related associations surrounding national and state legislative activities.

His passion for the automotive industry began in 2002 as a Technical Training specialist/instructor for Volkswagen Germany.

Recruited by ZF Services, Germany, a global technology and supplies system provider offering comprehensive automated driving and electric mobility solutions for manufacturers and newly emerging transport and mobility service providers, Dirk’s responsibilities over the next 13 years included international technical service and sales training management.

While serving as North American Training Manager, ZF Services, Dirk was hired by I-CAR in late 2020 to serve as Director, Technical Programs & Services.

With 30 years of automotive experience under his belt, Niel is recognized as an industry subject-matter-expert in EV, ADAS, Automatic Transmission and Dual Clutch transmission technology.

Niel has developed a diverse skill set, both as a business owner and staff Subject Matter Expert. He is currently a member of the instructor and leadership team of the Automotive Certified Training academy as well as an Instructor/Subject Matter Expert in ADAS and EV Technology for the Energy Security Agency. Before this assignments Niel was the SR Manager for ADAS & EV Training at I-CAR and has developed I-CAR’s ADAS Training courses as well as the Instructor Team.

Niel's diagnostics expertise and work in leading technologies like ADAS and electric vehicles provide him with a rich background to draw from for his other passions for technical training and speaking. He supports several technical committees; developed training curriculum and instructed 10,000 students annually for a Tier 1 Automotive supplier; holds a number of certifications, including High Voltage Technology Trainer; authored articles for the automotive trade press; and has spoken at automotive association events and international industry seminars.
